Stella's Sea Eagle
To the north of Hokkaido to the small fishing town of Rasu. This area is famous for the high concentration of Stella’s Sea Eagles. As the fresh water ice melts along the huge Amur River which runs between Russia and China this expanse of Ice drifts down with the currents along Coast of Sakhalin Island. It then drifts into straight between northern Hokkaido and the Kuril Islands. This ice acts as the perfect backdrop for photographing one of the world’s most impressive eagles.
