Angel of the North, Northern Gannet

The UK supports some of the world’s largest Gannet colonies and I have spent the past twenty years visiting most of them. One of my favourite colonies is on the small island of Saltee and I have visited many times. This image was taken on a dull day but I used the conditions to try some high key shots. The light grey sky and white rocks acted as the perfect foil.
