Lectures & Photo Talks

Wild Taiga

A never-ending forest, these northern forests are the realm to some of the most iconic species on the planet. From large predators, like the brown bear, wolf, and wolverine to elusive birds like the great grey owl and golden eagle. Danny has spent 10 years travelling to these remote forests in all seasons to capture these images”. This talk is a showcase of some of his best images that he has managed to capture during that time.

The Arctic

Svalbard is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places on our planet. This remote and pristine environment, a land of mountains and tundra, glaciers and ice are home to a wealth of species, all set in the most awe-inspiring landscape. This extraordinary land, 60% of which is ice-covered, is home to some of the most extraordinary wildlife on the planet. Located right on the southern fringe of the ever-frozen Arctic Ocean, this is a land forged by ice, wind, and sea. It was always Danny’s ambition to visit this beautiful archipelago and his first visit to Svalbard was in 2008. The sheer beauty of the place captivated him and this talk showcases some of his favourite images from his many trips there.

The Long Journey North

From the Mountain Tops of Scotland to the Boreal forests of Finland, the Arctic Tundra of Iceland to the Polar Ice caps of Svalbard my AV show will take you on a Journey through some of the remotest parts that northern Europe has to offer. For the past seven years I have travelled to many corners of northern Europe covering the many species that seek out a living in these inhospitable lands.

The Art of Wildlife Photography

This is a great talk for your camera club as it gives an in-depth knowledge of what it takes to be a wildlife photographer. Covering aspects like field craft, exposure, technique, and style and much more. The talk showcases some of Danny’s personal favourites and so gives a great indication of why he shoots the way he does.

Lands of Fire and Ice

My audio-visual presentation ‘Lands of Fire and Ice’ is based on several photographic trips to Yellowstone, Iceland, and Japan. This talk covers the wildlife that make these geothermal areas their home. Expect stunning scenic images – waterfalls, active volcanoes, boiling mud-pools, icebergs, glaciers, lakes, and stunning sunsets – alongside equally stunning images of the animals I have photographed.
